Honey Brook, PA - On Saturday March 25th Elverson Honey Brook Area EMS hosted its first community Hands-only CPR, Stop the Bleed, and First Aid course. EMT V. Motter and Chief Welch presented the techniques for providing CPR in the community, instructions on basic first aid, and the core of the Stop the Bleed program. The department was pleased to provide this free training to over 30 members of our community.

“Getting this knowledge and these skills into the hands of as many people as we can has the potential to save more lives than anything we do on the ambulance. Every 90 seconds someone outside of the hospital goes into cardiac arrest, and trauma is still the leading cause of death in children and young adults. Equipping our community to start the response for these situations immediately gives our patients the best possible chance of survival.” Said Chief Welch

Police, Fire, and EMS are often considered first responders. The truth is that when something happens in our community, the first ones to respond are our friends, family, and neighbors. Providing the tools for our community to help each other is an important part of the public safety mission. These classes provide an opportunity to get life-saving knowledge into the hands of the community.

Elverson Honey Brook EMS’ next Hands-Only CPR/First Aid/Stop the Bleed program will be during our June 24th open house from 10am-2pm at our Elverson Station 4458 Main St, Elverson.

Elverson Honey Brook EMS is a non-profit EMS service provider to over 250 square miles of Chester, Berks, and Lancaster Counties. Responding to over 2500 calls for service per year in 11 municipalities. EHBEMS has been providing services to our communities since 1948.
