On October 18th, 2024, at 4:58 am Honey Brook Fire Company along with area mutual aid were dispatched to the 200 block of Hunters Run Road in Honey Brook Township for a house fire.

Honey Brook Fire Company and mutual aid made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported a house on fire with multiple explosions. Chief 33 (Kern) reported a large column of smoke while responding and requested a “Working Fire Dispatch” which added additional resources to the assignment.

Chief 33 arrived and assumed the command for this incident. As units arrived on the scene they were given their assignments by the commander. Ambulance 189 and Micu 193 arrived and set up rehab operations for the fire personnel on the scene.

Due to the structure collapsing the commander decided a defensive attack of the fire would be appropriate for this fire. Unfortunately 1 subject was found deceased at the scene. The fire was placed under control at 6:08 am with the assignment being scaled back to the Honey Brook Fire Company units and Tanker 35. The remainder of the units were returned by the commander.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and responders affected by this incident.

Ambulance 189 cleared the scene at 7:51 am.
