Accident With Entrapment In Caernarvon Township-Berks County

On October 27th, 2024, at 2:01Twin Valley Fire Department along with Elverson-Honey Brook EMS and Tower Direct Paramedic’s (Medic 193) were dispatched to the 200 block of Mill Rd in Caernarvon Township Berks County for an auto accident with entrapment.

Twin Valley Fire Department units along with Elverson-Honey Brook EMS and Tower Direct Paramedic’s made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported a single vehicle into a telephone pole with 1 subject trapped.

Chief 69 (Hornberger) arrived and assumed command for this incident and confirmed 1 subject trapped. Ambulance 89 and Medic 193 arrived and assumed patient care and determined that due to the patients condition a “Rapid Extrication” would be needed. Crews began pulling the patient from the vehicle. Rescue 69 arrived and controlled the hazards on the vehicle.

A 2nd subject from the vehicle requested to be evaluated and Ambulance 189 was requested to the scene by the commander. Once Ambulance 189 arrived care of the 2nd subject was transferred to that crew. Ambulance 89 and Medic 193 began transport to an area Trauma Center. Once Ambulance 189 packaged their patient they transported to an area hospital. Twin Valley Fire Department units remained on the scene to assist the Caernarvon Township Police Department with lighting of the scene and traffic control.

The final Elverson-Honey Brook EMS unit cleared the call at 3:51.
