On November 1st, 2024, at 14:41 Honey Brook Fire Company along with mutual aid were dispatched to the 400 block of Gooseberry Lane in Honey Brook Township for a reported brush fire. Honey Brook Fire Company units responded to the scene and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported woods and leaves on fire. Chief 33 (Kern) arrived with a large woods fire and reported that this would be a separate incident from the reported vehicle fire on Birdell Road. As Chief 33 was able to size up the scene better he requested additional brush trucks and tankers to the scene which added additional companies to the assignment. Chief 33 assumed command for this incident and as the additional responding units arrived, they were given their assignments. Ambulance 89 provided rehab to the fire personnel OnScene. Thanks to the quick actions of the personnel on scene barns, kennels and a 100-gallon diesel tank were saved. A notification was made to the forestry department unfortunately with all of the brush fires around the area their resources were limited. The fire was reported contained at 15:19 and at 15:33 the fire was placed under control by the command with all hands working and extensive mop up. Ambulance 89 was released from the scene at 16:44. |
