Slick Roadways Cause Accident On Route 176 In Caernarvon Township Berks County

On November 22nd, 2024, at 14:05 Twin Valley Fire Department along with Elverson-Honey Brook EMS and Tower Direct Medics were dispatched to the mile marker 2.1 on Route 176 for an auto accident with reported entrapment.

Twin Valley Fire Department units, Ambulance 89, Micu 193, Chief 89 (Welch) all made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that the caller reported a vehicle versus tree with possible entrapment. Chief 69 (Hornberger) and Ambulance 89 arrived to confirm that all subjects were out of the vehicle. Chief 69 held the responding Twin Valley Fire Department units off of Route 176 due to slick roadways.

Ambulance 89 evaluated 1 subject from the accident which later refused transport to a hospital. A notification was made to PennDOT to salt the roadway. The scene was turned over to the police department.

Ambulance 89 cleared the call at 14:53.
