Accident With Entrapment In Caernarvon Township-Lancaster County

On December 7th, 2024, at 22:37 the Caernarvon Township Fire Company (Churchtown) along with Twin Valley Fire Department Rescue 69, Elverson-Honey Brook EMS and Tower Direct Paramedics (Medic 93) were dispatched to the 200 block of Twin County Road in Caernarvon Township Lancaster County for an auto accident with entrapment.

Caernarvon Fire Company units along with mutual aid made the response and were advised by the Lancaster County 911 Center that the caller reported 3-vehicles involved and possibly 1 subject was trapped. Additional callers reported a total of 4-vehicles involved with 1 subject confirmed entrapped in a vehicle.

Caernarvon Township Fire Company units arrived to confirm the reports and Lancaster Chief 34 arrived and assumed the command for this incident. Ambulance 89 arrived, and their crew immediately triaged the scene to determine the number of patients and resources that would be needed at the scene. Rescue 69 arrived, and their crew began extrication of 1 subject from a vehicle with Ambulance 89 and Medic 93's crew. The Commander requested 3 additional ambulances to the scene. As additional ambulances arrived, they were given their orders by the commander.

All EMS units transported their patients to the appropriate local hospitals. Caernarvon Fire Company and Twin Valley Fire Department units remained on the scene to assist with debris clean up and to provide light for the scene while the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the accident scene.

Ambulance 89 cleared the call at 00:15.
