Multiple Subjects Struck On Old Philadelphia Pike In Salisbury Township

On February 10th, 2025, at 14:59 White Horse Fire Company along with area mutual aid were dispatched to the 5000 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Salisbury Township for multiple subjects struck by a vehicle.

White Horse Fire Company units along with Elverson-Honey Brook EMS, Tower Direct Micu 93, WellSpan Medics, Penn Med 1 (Doctor Mulcahy) all made the response and were advised by the Lancaster County 911 Center that the caller reported 3 subjects were struck by a vehicle.

White Horse Fire Company units arrived and immediately began triaging the scene for patients and provided care on the injured subjects. Engine 49-1's crew also provided crowd control of the scene. White Horse Fire Company officers assumed the command for this incident. Ambulance 189 and Micu 93 arrived and were given a patient by EMS Chief 49 (Zook). Penn Med 1 arrived and was directed to Ambulance 49-1 where the most critical patient was being treated. At the request of EMS Chief 49 (Zook) the helicopter was placed on standby and directed to fly a short time later.

Engine 49-1 cleared the scene to handle the landing zone for this incident as Lifelion Helicopter advised of an 8-minute ETA to the scene once they were airborne. Ambulance 49-2 transported their patient to the landing zone to await the arrival of the Lifelion Helicopter. Ambulance 49-1 transported the most critical patient by ground with Penn Med 1 to LGH. Tower Direct Micu 93 transported their patient by ground to LGH and Ambulance 189 was made available on the scene to cover the area as the area EMS units were now committed. The Lifelion Helicopter arrived and made contact with Ambulance 49-2's crew. Engine 49-1 and Ambulance 49-2's crews assisted with loading the patient into the helicopter and the Lifelion Helicopter transported their patient to PennState Hershey Medical Center.

White Horse Fire Company units remained on the scene to assist the Pennsylvania State Police with their investigation. Fire Police were requested to the scene to shut down the roadway due to an extended investigation of the scene.

Ambulance 189 cleared the scene at 15:45.
