Becoming a subscriber of Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS benefits the subscriber, Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS and the community.
Benefits for the Subscriber:

If the subscriber does not have medical insurance coverage, the membership could help lower the out of pocket expense.

Subscription will cover the member if they are in need of emergency medical ambulance service if they are away from home but still within Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS communities.

Will cover the subscriber for one calendar year.

The subscription cost may be tax-deductible.

Two Lift-Assists are covered with a membership. Additional lift-assists are compensated at a lower rate.

- Covers a family of any size, and children of any age living in the same household

- Covers one person over the age of 65

- Covers two people, one of them must be over the age of 65
Benefits for the Community and Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS:

Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS is an independent non-profit organization. Just like other emergency services providers such as fire departments, we rely on donations and memberships from the community. Your subscription will help ensure that our life-saving team can provide state of the art pre-hospital care and medicine when you or your family members need it the most.

Funds generated by the subscription drive enable the Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS to:

Purchase and maintain medical equipment,

Train our health care professional EMT's and First Responders.

Cover building expenses, and staff the Ambulances 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Please be assured that Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS will always respond to an emergency call, whether you are a subscriber or not, however, non-subscribers may be subject to much higher out-of-pocket expenses and any balance not covered by your insurance company.

WILL YOU BILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY?
Yes, We reserve the right to bill your insurance company for services.
HOW DO I BENEFIT FROM BECOMING A MEMBER?
Membership decreases the patients out of pocket expense. The first emergency transport will have no out of pocket expense to the member. If there are any subsequent medically necessary emergency transports, patient responsibility per your insurance will be reduced by 75% for members. Members are responsible for the remaining 25% balance.
Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS Inc. is registered with the IRS and approved 501-C3 Non-Profit Organization, so in most cases, your contribution may be tax-deductible. Please consult your Tax Advisor for further details.

Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS covers approximately 225 square miles. We cover all or parts of 13 municipalities in three counties. We provide total or partial ambulance service for the following fire companies:

Subscription FAQ's
WHAT IS THE COST TO SUBSCRIBE?
ISN'T AMBULANCE SERVICE PROVIDED BY MY TAX DOLLARS?
No, as a non-profit organization, Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS is funded mainly through the subscription drive, billing and donations., although some municipalities do provide some funding.
AS A SUBSCRIBER, DO I KEEP CHECKS SENT TO ME BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY?
No. Any insurance reimbursement received for Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS services must be sent directly to Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS. Failure to do so will result in the revocation of the subscription. Additionally, legal or collective action may be taken against the patient or responsible party.
WHAT IF I DON'T SUBSCRIBE?
We will always answer the call, however, non-members are subject to much higher out of pocket expenses, and any balance the insurance company does not pay.
I ALREADY DONATE TO MY VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY, Am I NOT COVERED THROUGH THE FIRE COMPANY?
No, although Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS works very closely with all of the local volunteer fire companies, there is no affiliation.
