Multi Vehicle Accident Reported With Entrapment and Ejection In Honey Brook Township

On April 3rd, 2023, The Honey Brook Fire Company and East Brandywine Fire Company Rescue 49 along with Elverson Honey Brook EMS and Tower Direct Paramedics were dispatched to the 1900 block of Horseshoe Pike In Honey Brook Township for a report of an auto accident with entrapment and ejection.

Ambulance 189 and Tower Direct Micu 193 made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center of 2 vehicles with 1 of the vehicles being cut in half. Additional callers reported possibly up to 3 patients but were unable to advise the extent of their injuries. Ambulance 189 requested a helicopter be placed on standby along with an additional 2 Bls units to the scene. Micu 193 requested Micu 93 to the scene as an additional medic.

Ambulance 189 arrived, and their crew split to triage the scene for patients followed closely by Micu 193. Ambulance 189 confirmed a total of 4 patients which 1 patient was ejected from the vehicle and no entrapment in any of the vehicles and stood down the helicopter. Deputy 33 (Ream) arrived and established the "Horseshoe Pike" Command and recalled Rescue 49 and the Coatesville VA Fire Department. Horseshoe Pike Command requested area fire police to the scene to shut down Horseshoe Pike while units operated on the scene. Ambulance 89 and 89-20 (Welch) arrived to assist with patient care until the arrival of our additional resources. Micu 244 arrived and was given the operator of the pick up truck. Ambulance 189 with Medic 93, Ambulance 89, Micu 193, and Micu 244 transported their respective patients to area hospitals for injuries sustained from this accident.
