Police Incident At An Area Detention Center Sparks Fire And EMS Assistance

On July 4th, 2023, as most of the public was enjoying their 4th of July activities the Elverson-Honey Brook EMS and Twin Valley Fire Department along with neighboring EMS agencies were summoned to assist numerous police agencies at an area detention center for a police incident.
EMS Chief (Welch) and Chief 69 (Hornberger) made the response and both chiefs were advised that their units would be needed to standby while the police departments worked to control a situation inside of the detention center. Chief 69 directed the fire operations and EMS Chief (Welch) directed the EMS operations for this incident. All units arrived and stood-by until they were given their assignments by the chiefs.
Thankfully the situation was handled quickly and professionally by our law enforcement officials. N injuries were reported and units were able to free up without incident.
