August 25, 2023

On August 25th, 2023, The Glenmoore Fire Company along with Tower Direct Paramedics and Westwood Paramedics were dispatched to the area of N. Manor and Creek Roads in West Nantmeal Township for an auto accident with entrapment.

Chief 48 (Decarlo) Micu 93 and Micu 244 made the response and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center of a 2-vehicle accident with a report of multiple patients and there was believed to be possibly 3 trapped. Unfortunately, Elverson-Honey Brook resources were committed to other emergencies in the district and mutual aid units had to be dispatched. Due to the severity of the call and the fact that Elverson-Honey Brook resources were committed on other calls Chief 89 (Welch) made the response to assist at the scene.

Chief 48 was the first arriving responder to confirm the report and also confirmed 3 patients trapped. Chief 48 setup the "N. Manor Road Command" and requested an additional Micu to the scene. A helicopter was also placed on stand-by and as Chief 89 and Micu 93 arrived at the scene they worked collaboratively to triage the scene for patients. Chief 48 requested a 2nd rescue to the scene from the Twin Valley Fire Department to assist with the extrication. Micu 287 was dispatched to the scene as well as Micu 193 for the 3rd and 4th Micu. Jeffstat was the available helicopter placed on stand-by with a 19-minute ETA. Glenmoore and Twin Valley Fire Department worked together to quickly extricate the trapped individuals and turned the patients over to EMS.

As the additional transporting EMS units arrived they were given their respective patients for transport. The Jeffstat helicopter was stood down and a total of 4 patients were transported to an area trauma center for injuries sustained from the accident.

Glenmoore Fire Company remained on the scene to assist the State Police with their investigation and to keep the roadway shut down until the arrival of a local tow company.
