On Thursday May 24th, 2024, members of Elverson Honey Brook Area EMS attended the Chester County EMS Council annual awards banquet. This banquet celebrates various activities from the previous year. EHBEMS had a very active 2023 with much to celebrate. Our agency submitted multiple nominations for awards, because of our nominations the following individuals won.
*Jeremy Motter – BLS provider of the year *Danielle Martin – ALS provider of the year *Lori Plank – Distinguished provider award *Senator Katie Muth – Robert Thompson Memorial Award *Brooklyn Dawson & Kaylee Grim – Citizen’s award
To share what these awards are for, I will quote from the Chester County EMS Council awards application:
- Distinguished Provider Award Criteria: A member of the Chester County emergency services community who has positively impacted the service or community through longevity of exceptional service.
- Advanced Life Support Provider of the Year Criteria: An Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse, or Health Professional Physician who is currently certified in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, who has made a significant contribution in any of the following areas: • Education and training of pre-hospital personnel and / or the community, • Planning and development of Advanced Life Support systems with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, • Leadership in the advancement of pre-hospital emergency care as an allied health profession, • Leadership in the advancement of existing Advanced Life Support systems’ • Research in pre-hospital medicine, • Actively providing care at the advanced level (i.e., medical command authorization), • Leadership among peers. Eligibility: PA certified AEMT, Paramedic, PHRN, HP
- Basic Life Support Provider of the Year Criteria: An Emergency Responder or Emergency Medical Technician who is currently certified in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, who has made a significant contribution in any of the following areas: • Education and training of pre-hospital personnel and / or the community, • Planning and development of Basic Life Support systems within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, • Leadership in the advancement of pre-hospital emergency care as an allied health profession, • Research in pre-hospital medicine, • Leadership in the advancement of existing Basic Life Support systems, • Actively providing care at the basic level, • Leadership among peers. Eligibility: PA certified Emergency Responder or EMT.
- Citizens Award Criteria: A citizen not affiliated with any Chester County EMS or emergency services organization, who participates or assists an EMS service or personnel in a heroic or exemplary manner. Eligibility: Citizen
- Robert Thompson Memorial Award Criteria: This award was established to recognize the late Robert Thompson, former state senator and Chester County EMS Council, Inc. board member. The award recognizes a public elected official who has made significant contributions to the planning, development, implementation, or evaluation of EMS systems within their local community or the Commonwealth as a whole. Eligibility: Recipients may be a state, county or municipal elected official who has worked to improve the quality and availability of any component of EMS or trauma care systems or who has spearheaded significant improvements to EMS in their community of the Commonwealth.
We are incredibly proud of our providers, our elected officials, and our community for their commitment to each other and to ensuring the safety of our residents. While not all of our winners are part of our organization, it is our honor to have nominated them for these awards. |
