| Last night, EHBEMS participated in a joint training session with the Geigertown Fire Company. The session began with a review of equipment on the ambulance, covering how it operates and where it is stored when not in use. This information is important for local fire departments, as it ensures they know where to find additional equipment while EMS crews are assisting patients.
The second part of the training focused on refresher CPR instruction. Under the guidance of the instructor, EHBEMS crew members demonstrated CPR techniques and assisted fire company members as they practiced the procedure. Immediate CPR is the most effective way to help someone in cardiac arrest, and the sooner it is started, the greater the chances of survival.
Individuals interested in supporting their community are encouraged to consider volunteering with their local firehouse or EMS station. Not 100 percent sure on joining? Stop by and check out the station when you can, call your local organization to hear more about fire and EMS! |
